Captain’s Cove is a planned community that was begun in the
1960s. Although laid out for approximately 4500 lots, there were
less than 130 houses built by 1990. In the late 1990s, this
community and its 11 miles of waterfront lots was discovered.
Development has increased annually to an average of 150-200 new
homes each year. It is the only developer/membership community
within 100 miles with this array of homeowner amenities at such
reasonable rates.

Currently there is a Board of Directors with majority control in
the hands of the developer.
When
a majority of available lots are privately owned, property
owners will elect a representative Board of Directors to govern
the community.
